Trademark Attorney (California Licensed)
Location: Remote: United States – Must be licensed in California
Position Type: Part-Time/Flexible Schedule
About the Role
Meyer Law is seeking a part-time Trademark Attorney with substantial experience in trademark matters to join its growing practice. This is an opportunity to work with a forward-thinking, entrepreneurial law firm that has been named one of the fastest growing law firms in the United States for four consecutive years. We offer flexibility, no billable hour requirements, and the opportunity to collaborate with a talented and supportive team serving entrepreneurs, startups and growing brands. Compensation ranges from $100–$175 per hour, depending on experience, expertise, and ability to work independently. The ideal candidate has strong experience in U.S. trademark law, brand protection, and advising businesses on intellectual property strategy.
DESCRIPTION:
- Conduct trademark clearance searches and analyze results.
- Prepare and file trademark applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- Respond to Office Actions and manage trademark prosecution
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Advise clients on trademark strategy, brand protection, and portfolio management.
- Monitor and enforce trademark rights, including cease and desist matters when necessary.
- Provide guidance on trademark usage, maintenance, and renewals.
- Collaborate with the firm’s corporate and startup teams on branding and IP matters.
- Prepare, file and assist with international trademark filings and portfolio management.

- Has experience working with fast-growing technology companies.
- Has experience making relevant state and federal filings.
- Has a proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Has a proven ability to handle complex matters, with multiple initiatives going on simultaneously.

- Is detail-oriented, organized, proactive and has strong communication skills.
- Is a self-starter and loves the freedom to work independently and remotely, but has the self-discipline to stay focused on the greater goals of the law firm.
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop lasting business relationships.
- Consistently drives for excellence and pushes his/her own limits.
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Has exceptional work ethic and drive.
- Approximately 5 years or more of experience in trademark law.
- Strong knowledge of USPTO procedures and trademark prosecution
Professional Licensing Requirement
Applicants must be licensed to practice law in California and in good standing with the State Bar of California at the time of application and throughout the duration of their engagement with the firm.
Schedule
Part-time position with flexible hours. Workload will vary depending on firm needs and attorney availability.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Advising clients on various entities, such as corporations and limited liability companies.
- Drafting corporate-related documents, such as bylaws, minutes, consents and founder’s agreements.
- Advising clients on various structures to raise money.
- Drafting investment-related documents, such as convertible notes and subscription agreements.
- Due diligence reviewing clients structure, contracts, and more.
- Assisting clients with state and federal filings.
- Assisting clients with legal strategy.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients.
- Provide exceptional customer service.

CONTRACT SPECIALIST
Meyer Law is seeking a part-time or full-time Contract Specialist with 7+ years of experience working with startups + scaling companies to join its growing law firm.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
- review and draft technology agreements, such as SaaS, terms of use, development agreements, licensing agreements and IT infrastructure agreements.
- review and draft vendor agreements
- review and draft various commercial contracts
- review and draft contract templates, structure and recommend areas of improvement
- provide exceptional customer service
